Last Lakes Golf Outing gives to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley
Although it was a cold, blustery day on August 29, 2009, the 4th Annual Last Lakes Golf Outing had its best turnout of its existence. The golf outing was able to raise over $5000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region.
The August golf outing was open to the public, and has grown in all 4 years of existence. With a price of $55 per golfer, it is a very affordable outing. The $55 entry fee gives each golfer 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, four drink tickets, use of driving range, door prize entry, and registration package. The registration package included an Olympic vest or fleece, area gift certificates, and Big Brothers Big Sisters items.
Last Lakes Golf would not be able to put on this outing without the help of people around it. Whether it is Gold Medal Sponsors, Silver Medal Sponsors, Bronze Medal sponsors, volunteers, participants, etc., they are the real supporters that make the outing click. Lake Breeze Golf Course also deserves much credit. Each year, the staff goes above and beyond to make sure this golf outing, along with numerous others, runs smoothly.
The 2009 golf outing brought over a 130 golfers together at Lake Breeze Golf Course. The four person scramble produced three winning teams. The Men’s winner shot 13 under par, Women’s winner shot three under par, and the co-ed team shot nine under par. After golf and various events throughout the round, participants enjoyed a lunch and prizes. Prizes included a gas grill, LCD TV, golf equipment, area gift certificates, and more, with each golfer having a chance to win.
After many months of organizing and planning, handing over the check to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley is what it is all about. Last Lakes Golf Outing chooses a different local charity every year for its annual event. Previous charities have included YMCA Strong Kids Campaign – Oshkosh, Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh, and the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
